Summary of New Home Rebates & Special Offers

The FortisBC New Home Step Code Rebate program provides a rebate of up to $10,000 to build a home to BC Step 3 or higher using natural gas space and water heating (or electricity space and water heating in FortisBC’s electricity service area). This rebate is available until December 31, 2023.

The FortisBC Indigenous Community New Home program provides a rebate of up to $13,000 for Indigenous Communities constructing eligible homes built in FortisBC’s electricity and/or natural gas service area to support the adoption of the BC Energy Step Code and advance higher efficiency new construction. This rebate is available until December 31, 2023.
The FortisBC Design Offer Rebates helps builders receive up to $7,000to cover consulting fees of Integrated Design Process (IDP) consultants, building science consultants and/or mechanical design specialists on individual homes. Multi-family projects can receive up to $50,000.

FortisBC Design Offer Rebates

The CleanBC Better Homes New Construction Program provides rebates up to $15,000 for the construction of new, high-performance, electric homes. This program is fully subscribed. Applicants can submit a pre-registration form to be added to the program waitlist. If a pre-approved program participant drops out or does not meet the program requirements, available funding will go to the next applicant on the waitlist.

The CMHC Eco Plus Program offers up to 25% insurance premium refund to homeowners who purchase climate friendly housing. This program was formally called the CMHC Green Home Program.

Through the Federal and Provincial Government GST/HST New Housing Rebate Program, you may be eligible to receive a new housing rebate for some of the GST/HST paid for new constructed residential homes.
